Now that you better understand what’s involved during an observation, let’s spend a few minutes getting ready for one. In a minute, take another look at the different observation tools on screen and select one you think will work well for you. You may decide after using it that this isn’t the best tool for you or staff you are working with and feel free to change tools, but at least you’ll have one to get started.
When you’re ready, choose and print off a few copies of your observation tool. Then spend a few minutes finding a folder or notebook to keep these forms in, along with some writing utensils and any other materials you think might help you be a better observer or note taker.
